My research paper was on Multiple Personality Disorder, focusing more on if MPD is able to change our body chemistry. I decided to go with an artistic recast project because I realized that students our age enjoy seeing projects that are not presentation and also because I enjoy drawing and photoshopping.

In this picture I drew a girl who is asleep with 5 different types of people behind her. When a “host” develops another personality, it’s usually caused by childhood trauma. These personalities are actually developed to help the host live safely in the environment they were growing up in and these personalities can range from and age and gender. When these personalities take over the host’s body, the host usually goes to sleep and wake up with no recollection of what the other personalities have done.

I started off by looking up types of people I think would be fun to draw, but I think the hardest part about doing this project was what I wanted it to look like and If I could actually draw it well. I ended up really happy with my results, I even created personalities and background stories for all of the characters in this picture.

I hope this picture will be able to explain that the personalities that are created from MPD are supposed to be helpful. Each character I’ve drawn has pros and cons but when they take turns and work together, their main goal will always be keeping their host safe.
